As one goal of AI&Eve is to help us get accustomed to artificial intelligence and augmentation tools, we want to create little video tutorials for you so you can see the ways we use AI more visually. To kick this off, we’ve prepared a little prompting tutorial for writing with GPT. Watch it on loom or down below.

• When prompting, clearly state any crucial context like who you are, what you need to achieve and how you need GPT to help.
• Remember that GPT can also help you think through things and assist you in analyzing your thoughts.
• When asking it to re-write or give alternate sentences, provide key “tone of voice” descriptions. You can give percentages to your tone of voice words, like “40% easy to understand, %60 lyrical.”
• Ask for 5-10 alternates in its responses.
• Clarify which words/details should be retained in its responses.
• Ask it to repeat what it understands; it can help you see your words through a different lens.
